Hofan Chau可凡修業於倫敦國際演藝學院和巴黎 Jacques Lecoq 國際戲劇學院,現為自由身導演、表演者和教師。

2003 年,可凡以令她命懸一線的一次車禍為題材,創作獨舞作品《《事後、可可》,獲得美國麥爾文
‧特洛伊編舞大獎。其他作品包括 2005 年於波蘭第十四屆現代舞蹈節公演的《Diamond Baby》 以及在倫敦2006上演的 《Craig & Miriam》。去年,她為香港學校戲劇節編寫和執導原創劇 《三隻小豬救天星塔》。她曾參演進劇場的《暖大衣》、多空間《呼吸 II – 現象》、Robert Wood Dance New York 《Pearl Sea Project》,亞洲民眾戲劇節協會及藝術人家《我家有個大門神》和 無言天地劇團的《創世記》 。

2007年回港後,她聚一群集志同道合的創作者,在望日劇場 的架作為《石屎森林》的編導,《 挪威沒有森林》的形體指導和《The Foundling》 的演員。 2009年上半年度為超連結牛棚實驗劇場節被甄選的《植夢的愛麗思》的形體指導/演員和自主舞蹈創作平台2009中的《Hallelujah》當編作演員.

平日教英文和跟李雅芳師傅/杜維德師傅學習太極。

Hofan has spent much of the past decade learning / performing in various countries, including the Lecoq school in Paris, the London International School of Performing Arts (LISPA), and the Silesian Dance Theatre in Bytom, Poland.

In August 2006, she returned home to Hong Kong, where she now freelances as a teacher, director and performer. She is currently the Artistic Director of Burnt Mango Dance Theatre, a nomadic physical theatre collaborative.

In 2003, her seven minute dance solo, "Aftermath (with Cocoa)" was awarded the Melvin B Troy Award for Choreography. Since then, she was involved in the direction and performance of pieces such as, Diamond Baby (Poland, 2004), Craig & Miriam (London, 2006).

Under the Burnt Mango collaborative, she served as the director for Concrete Jungle Berzerk, movement director for (No)rwegian Wood, actor/producer for The Foundling, and a devising choreographer/performer for Hallelujah, a piece created for New Dance Platform 2009.

Hofan has also acted for Theatre du Pif, Arthome and Theatre of Silence; and danced in productions directed by Rober Wood New York (USA), Kongtact Square and Blue Eyed Soul (UK).

With a degree in Peace & Conflict Education from Swarthmore College (USA), Hofan is curious about the community around her. She is currently teaching & developing curriculum for Capstone Prep. She also gives drama / movement workshops to local schools and various other social organisations.

She currently studies tai chi with Victor d'Aquino and Li Nga-Fong.
